HPOWER’s 150 employees are the foundation of the facility’s success and they work diligently to ensure that the facility operates efficiently.

HPOWER has an annual payroll of $10 million that stimulates the local economy and helps provide Oahu with economic stability.

HPOWER utilizes local vendors whenever possible.

Each year, HPOWER spends more than $6.5 million on equipment and services from local vendors in Hawaii, further boosting the local economy.

HPOWER is proudly involved in local organizations including the Kapolei Rotary Club. HPOWER also sponsors the Kapolei Family Fun Run to benefit literacy programs and the Waianae Comprehensive Health Care Fun Run.

Each year, HPOWER participates in the Hawaii Food Bank’s annual food drive, collecting an average of 2,000 pounds of food annually.

HPOWER supports the Partnership for the Environment’s educational programs promoting recycling on Oahu.

Given HPOWER’s technical nature, it’s no surprise that HPOWER is a proud sponsor of a statewide science fair and school career days. HPOWER also donates to the travel expenses of science fair winners enabling them to compete at the district and national levels.

HPOWER provides the popular “Science Screen” programs for the Leeward School District. These videos, brochures and teacher guides are aimed at middle and high school levels, providing teachers with modern science education curriculum for use in the classroom.

HPOWER adopted the local Kapolei Elementary School, supporting school initiatives throughout the year. As one part of that commitment, HPOWER donates the Earth Preservers curriculum to the 5th grade classes to help make learning about protecting our environment more fun.

As a sponsor of “Project Graduation,” HPOWER supports Leeward High School graduating seniors and their alcohol-free graduation party.

HPOWER also supports diverse youth activities such as the annual Kalaheo High School-HPOWER invitational varsity girls softball tournament and the Halau Hula Olana’s participation in the International Children’s Festival in Washington, DC.
